July 2010

July was a wonderful, busy month for us. Shari and the girls were able to kick off the month with a visit to the Lady Washington and the Hawaiian Cheiftan while they were docked in Olympia.

Just a day or two later we were off to see the local fireworks at Boston Harbor on the 3rd. They were absolutely spectacular, as usual. We had Steve, Kathy, Mike, and Lynn aboard the Pondo May (our first boat) rafted to us for the festivities as well as our other friends, the Monsons joining us from land. The next day we sailed over to McMicken Island and were able to hook up with more friends.
We were so fortunate to again spend time in the San Juan Islands. Bob’s schedule worked out perfectly for us to head north for a couple of weeks this month. On our way north, we rafted up to our great friends on Ghost for one night. It was so good to see them, and were able to meet Fathom, their adorable new puppy. Time with them is never long enough and naturally we had to leave the next day. They were so generous to loan us their slip and car while Bob went to work for a few days.

When he got home, we were off to the San Juans. We met up with our friends on Andiamo III at Spencer Spit. It was so good to see them! We all had so much fun catching up (and gorging ourselves with fresh crab!).

From there we motor sailed to Prevost Harbor on Stuart Island where we were able to hook up with the other half of the “BBC” also known as the “Brotherhood”. Cygnet and Pyxis arrived shortly after us and the festivities began. It was so fun to be with all of our friends again. Bob and Mark (s/v Cygnet) had a blast dinghy sailing.
